Mangavaan panchayat in Chitrakut district (Uttar Pradesh) is inhabited by Kol-Mavaiya tribals. Whereas about two decades back only about 15 per cent of them were able to cultivate their land, now more than 90 per cent of these tribal households are cultivating their land as prod farmers. The crop-yield has also gone up significantly due to well implemented soil and water conservation as well as provisio of small-scale irrigation.
