ABSSS which was part of the campaign Bhujal Badhao, Peyjal Bachao Abhiyan (enhance groundwater, protect drinking water campaign) in 2019 found a place in Limca Book of Records.
The campaign Bhujal Badhao, Peyjal Bachao was conducted in Banda ditrict in 2019 under the leadership of District Magistrate Heera Lal.
Under the campaign 2,605 coutour trenches were built, 2,183 hand pumps installed and 260 well constructed in 470 gram panchayats in one month from 26 February to 25 March 2019. During the same period 469 jal chaupals (village water parilament) on water budgeting and ground water recharge were als conducted.
Parties to the campaign were Banda district administration, WaterAid India, Akhil Bharatiya Samaj Sewa Sansthan, People’s Science Insittute and students of Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya University.
