Akhil Bharatiya Samaj Sewa Sansthan is implementing a water security project in Uttar Pradesh in Goremaukalan, Mudi, Sadha, Rakshi, Nibi, Birauna and Chhataini gram panchayats under Naraini block of Banda district of Bundelkhand. Under the project a community based rural mini drinking water project powered by solar energy has been implemented in distant village Goremaukalan, situated near border with Madhya Pradesh.
This is a model project of Bundelkhand. Goremaukalan has 277 families and 1,400 population. This project has been implemented by targeting 124 families that used to face drinking water crisis. The low cost solar powered drinking water project has been implemented in the village.
An exposure tour to the community based rural mini drinking water project was organised for the Principal Secretary of the Department of Land and Water Resources of the State to press for implementation of similar project is Bundelkhand and rest of the state, particularly in the areas which have no electricity, or face electricity crisis.
