UPMA (Uttar Pradesh Mandal of America) Board Member Manju Mishra visited Bharat Mata Bal Abhyuday Centres in Patha area. She updated herself with the progress of poor forest-dweller tribal children studying in 10 education centres being run by Akhil Bharatiya Samaj Sewa Sansthan (ABSSS) with funds from UPMA. She praised the quality of education being imparted to children and gave suggestions for further improving education.
Mrs Mishra asked the teachers at the education centres about the difficulties being faced by them. She talked to the parents of teachers and motivated them to give attention to health and education of the children. She took food with them.
Belonging to the state capital Lucknow, Mrs Mishra is a great learned woman with social service leaning. In2012, she became an active member of UPMA, founded by Mrs Neelu Gupta in 2006. After being associated with the organisation she came to know how this organisation was providing an opportunity to provide education to the poor children in remote areas of Uttar Pradesh.
UPMA and ABSSS joined hands in 2016 to provide education to the deprived children in five hamlets in four gram panchayats of Manikpur block of Chitrakoot district. At present 10 education centres are being run in Jhari, Tikaria, Motwan, Nai Basti Deepu, Mangawan, Gopipur, Bheda, Jaro Mafi, Bandha Bhitar and Amchur Nerua. Seeing the progress of the children and understanding needs of deprived children five new education centres have been opened this year in as many hamlets in three gram panchayats.
To further increase interest of education of children in 10 education centres sweater, shoes, socks, school bags, books, exercise books, etc., were distributed among the children so their education continued unhindered. At present 350 Kol tribal children are studying in these 10 education centres.
In evening free coaching is being run in these centres for 185 children studying in classes 4 to 10. The teachers in these education centres stay for some time in the village, listen to the problems of the villagers and sometime offer solution of these problems.
After the visit, Mrs. Mishra held a small meeting with all the workers. She motivated the workers to continue with this pious work. ABSSS founder Gopal Bhai, director Rashtradeep and worker Delphine accompanied her during visit.
